Bring the dog. The courtyard is covered.
The courtyard has a roof over it, so you can bring the dog through winter and in wet weather, not only on fine days. Please call ahead so we can check we have a courtyard table free for you and your dog.
Where dogs can go
So you know before you arrive.
Yes: the courtyard, on a lead
Dogs are welcome anywhere in the covered outdoor courtyard, and must be on a lead at all times. Tell the team you've got one with you when you arrive and they'll seat you out there.
Not inside
The indoor dining room isn't open to dogs. For most people this isn't an issue, since the courtyard is generally the more pleasant place to sit.
Please call us on (09) 835 9904 before you come to check we have space. The covered courtyard has a limited number of tables that suit dogs, and we seat dog tables apart from one another so the dogs stay settled. A quick call means nobody arrives to find there's no room.
Dogs need to stay on a lead the whole time they're here, and with you at your table. That keeps things comfortable for other diners and for other dogs.
Why the covered courtyard matters
A lot of places that describe themselves as dog friendly only have uncovered outdoor tables, which limits when you can bring a dog along.
The courtyard is covered
There's a roof over it, so it's sheltered year-round and the weather generally doesn't decide whether the dog comes.
Park at the door
Ample free on-site parking on Parrs Cross Road. You can go straight from the car into the courtyard, without walking through the dining room.
A field for a walk
There's a wide open grass field behind the restaurant, so a walk before or after lunch doesn't mean getting back in the car.
Bringing the dog for lunch?
Give us a call first so we can save you a courtyard table.
Planning the visit
Call ahead to check availability. Only some of the courtyard tables work for dogs, and we deliberately keep dog tables apart from each other so the dogs stay relaxed. That means space can run out even when the restaurant looks quiet from the road. Ring us on (09) 835 9904 before you set off and we'll tell you straight away whether we can seat you, or hold a table for a time that works.
Mention the dog when you book. If you book online, add a note that you're bringing a dog so a courtyard table can be set aside, then give us a call to confirm it. That matters most on a busy Saturday.
Quieter times are easier. Weekday lunch and Sunday afternoon are the calmest stretches in the courtyard. Friday and Saturday evenings are our busiest service, so there's more foot traffic past your table.
The food doesn't change. The full Spanish and Mediterranean menu is available in the courtyard: tapas, share plates, wood-fired pizza and the rest. Have a look at the full menu, or read more about our Henderson location. Bringing kids too? See our family dining page.
Find us at 99 Parrs Cross Road, Henderson. Open Wednesday to Saturday 10am–10pm and Sunday 10am–8pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
A puppuccino, $5.50
We make them here: whipped cream in a little bowl of their own. Ask when you order and it comes out to the table with the rest.
